It asks why, after centuries, there is still no peace — especially for Indigenous peoples, who continue to face erasure, disconnection, and exclusion on their own lands.
The front features the Creators Kidz name, underlined by a lineup of smiling faces — each one carrying a deeper message. At first glance, joyful. But look closer: they reflect my take on the moment Indigenous peoples were "discovered" — not seen as equals, but as curiosities.
This piece confronts the gap between perception and reality, between history and humanity. It’s not just about friendship — it’s about truth, accountability, and the space between us.
The We Are Life Tee embodies the spirit of growth, connection, and creation at the heart of Afro-Indigenous identity. On the back, the words “We are Life, We are, Creators Kidz” encircle a striking Tree of Life design—symbolizing roots, resilience, and the endless cycle of creation. This shirt is a reminder that we are not separate from the earth, but an extension of it, carrying forward the strength of our roots while branching into new possibilities. A fusion of cultural meaning and modern streetwear, this tee celebrates community, identity, and the living legacy of creation.
The design captures a silhouette of my ancestors and family paddling together by canoe, one of them at the front adorned in thunderbird regalia, guiding the way. Above, reminding words: “We are not the first to paddle these waters — every stroke we take carries the strength, grief, and prayers of our ancestors who journeyed before us.” This piece reflects the deep truth that our paths are not walked alone; each movement forward carries the echoes of resilience, ceremony, and connection from those who came before. Colors represent cultures — a reflection and artistic depiction of what African, Indigenous, and peoples of many cultures have faced for generations. Through colonization teachings were lost, and vicious cycles were learned, leaving us disconnected from who we once were, left to pickup the pieces.
This represents that loss and disconnect, but also the journey of finding our way back. Piece by piece, we’re reconnecting — with our roots, our knowledge, and ourselves.
